FOUNDER: MR. JUSTICE (RETD.) ASAD MUNIR
Mr. Asad Munir has been actively practicing law as an Advocate at the High Courts and the Supreme Court of Pakistan since 1973. With a B.A. from Government College Lahore, LLB from Punjab University Law College, Lahore and an LL. M. from the University College London; Mr. Asad Munir actively practiced litigation involving civil, commercial, banking and labour laws. Throughout his career he has advised on insurance matters, drafted agreements and contracts pertaining to the power and energy sector. During his practice, he was a member of the visiting faculty of Punjab University Law College, Lahore where he taught Labour laws, also a visiting lecturer at the Civil Service Academy. He has taught Commercial law at the Directorate of Income Tax, and until very recently Company law at the University College Lahore.
Mr. Asad Munir was appointed to the post of Deputy Attorney General of Pakistan in 2006. He as elevated to the Lahore High Court Bench in 2009. During his term he was also a Member Syndicate of PMAS-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi.
After his retirement, he served as the Chairman of the Punjab Labour Appellate Tribunal for3 years, Lahore High Court appointed Administrator of the Pakistan Football Federation for 2 years, and served as a Director on the board of the National Bank of Pakistan for two years. Currently, Mr. Asad Munir is serving as an Arbitrator in numerous commercial proceedings and oversees the Supreme Court litigation of the firm.
BARRISTER REEMA ASAD MUNIR
After completing her L.L.B (Hons) in 2004 from the University of London, Ms. Reema enrolled in the Bar Vocational Course at the University of West of England, Bristol and was called to the Bar at the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. Ms. Reema studied ‘Alternative Dispute Resolution’ including mediation at the BVC. She has been practicing law since 2005.Ms. Reema is also an accredited mediator from the IFC and is a partner at Munir & Munir (Advocates and Legal Advisers) since 2009. She practices civil law, contentious and non contentious.
Her areas of expertise include alternate dispute resolution, banking and finance, oil and gas, consumer protection, environmental laws and foreign investment. Her clientele includes multi nationals,localcompanies,financialinstitutionsaswellasregulatoryauthorities.Apartfrom transactional and corporate consultancy, Ms. Reema has considerable experience in onstitutional, corporate and commercial litigation. She also appears on the panel of lawyers for the Spanish, Norwegian, Austrian, French, Danish and Portuguese Missionsin Pakistan. Ms. Reema set up the ‘Law and Gender’ course module at the Gender Studies Department,Lahore College for Women University in October 2005 and has been a visiting lecturer at the University since then.
MR. AHSAN AHMED MUNIR
A graduate of the University of London LL. B Honours Programme, Mr.Ahsan. A. Munir is a licensed attorney at the High Courts and has been practicing law since the year 2010. He later pursued his LL.M. in Petroleum Taxation and Finance from the prestigious Centre for Energy, Petroleum, Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) at the University of Dundee, Scotland in the year 2012. He holds certifications for International Upstream Petroleum Licensing; Strategies and Tactics for Host Governments & Oil Companies from the CEPMLP(2011), Oil and Gas Upstream Regulatory Framework in Pakistan from the Institute of Cost and
Management Accountants of Pakistan (2015), Private International Law, European Union Law and Comparative International Law from the prestigious Hague Academy of International Law (2017) amongst others. Mr. Ahsan has been associated with the top tier energy law firms in Lahore from the outset of his legal career.
He has exclusively worked for a leading Pakistani multinational energy conglomerate company and managed their legal & corporate affairs for two years. He has diligently represented oil marketing companies at all judicial and quasi-judicial for umsin Pakistan including Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, Federal Board of Revenue, the Board of Investment of Pakistan, Federal Investigation Agency and Ministry of Industries amongst others.
Since his induction in the firm, Munir & Munir Advocates & Legal Advisers in 2016, Mr. Ahsan
is engaged in litigation and his area of expertise include representing clients in contentious matters involving the fields of energy law; both local and international legislation, company law,
migration, property law, taxation and labor law.
He is also actively advising local and international entities on corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, compliance policies and drafting of complex corporate agreements inclusive of joint ventures, share purchase, licences, hospitality and concessions. He actively participatesin pro bono family law litigation as
well. To work towards the aim of strengthening the academic legal front and contributing thereof; Mr. Ahsan has been teaching the disciplines of jurisprudence, contract and public international law
amongst others for the past 07 years. Furthermore, he has been inducted in the faculty of Nadra Hassan Law Department, Kinnaird College for Women University, Lahore for the disciplines of Tax and Labour law.
